What is CBD oil?

According to Wikipedia, “Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It is a major phytocannabinoid, accounting for up to 40% of the plant’s extract.”

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring constituent of industrial hemp (cannabis sativa) plants.

It is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis, and is being scientifically investigated for numerous reasons.

Most people have heard of a cannabinoid called THC, which is the ingredient in cannabis that gets users high. Unlike THC, CBD is a non psychoactive cannabinoid and does not cause a high.

Is it legal?

The Federal Government and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) state any product with less than 0.3% THC is legal.

This means that CBD Hemp Oil is legal in all fifty states. However, CBD derived from cannabis/medical marijuana is only legal in designated states.

It’s important to do as much research as possible. Although CBD Hemp Oil is legal in all 50 states, some CBD companies are not allowed to ship to certain states. When researching companies, make sure they are allowed to ship to your state.

Benefits of CBD Hemp Oil

A nonprofit called Project CBD has examined peer-reviewed scientific studies and determined cannabis oil could be beneficial and therapeutic for individuals with:

Sleep disorders
And many others!

Is it Safe?

Overall, we found that scientists and doctors consider CBD oil to be safe for most people to use, and there are few, if any, serious side effects. However, if you are experiencing detrimental side effects, it’s likely due to the purity of the oil.  If you are experiencing side effects, it is likely due to the quality of the oil and not the oil itself.

Always looks for third party verified testing results before purchasing any CBD oil product. These tests determine how pure and clean the oil is and if it’s free of mercury, lead and other toxins and contaminants.

I feel like I almost have my sweet boy back. You are a life saver because I didn’t know what I was going to do. He got bullied in school so he then started bullying kids and was diagnosed with intermittent explosive disorder. Thank you again!”

How to take CBD Oil

CBD is most commonly taken orally in a paste or drops/ tincture format.

To consume CBD oil add several drops under your tongue and hold it to be absorbed in the mouth prior to swallowing (sublingual).

Other oral methods are capsules, mouth strips, and edibles such as infused water or chewing gum.  Others use CBD oil by taking it through the skin using products like lotions, balms, creams or patches.

Because there are many ways to take CBD oil, it’s important to find a method and product that works best for your body and your condition.  Again, everyone is different therefore different methods work for different bodies.

It’s important to start at a low dose so your body can acclimate to the new substance.

Over time, gradually increase your dosage to your desired effect.

CBD Oil comes in different strengths, therefore you may need more drops of a lower strength and less drops of a higher strength.

Dosing is subjective and depends on the ailment and severity of the condition.  If a cancer patient is in pain from cancer treatments, the patient will likely take more than a person who has anxiety.  Start at a low dose and gradually increase the dosage until reaching the desired benefit level.

What to look for before you purchase

  • Amount/Strength of CBD
  • Budget
  • Taste & Convenience
  • Organic/Non-GMO
  • Third Party Lab Tested for impurities and contaminants

Amount of CBD

Most CBD oil products contain anywhere from 5mg of CBD per serving, all the way up to 190mg per serving. You should always start at a low concentration or dose and gradually increase until you reach a desired benefit level.

Typically, the price increases with the amount of CBD in a product. Starting at a low dose will initially be less expensive. Considering the cost of pharmaceutical medications, CBD Oil will most likely be more cost effective even after you find your desired benefit level.

Taste & Convenience

In general CBD oil extracts are the most potent products, but they’re not for everyone. If you’d prefer something with a great flavor (or no taste at all), or a product you can take with you on the go, there are plenty of options such as capsules, liquids, and chewing gum.

Is it Organic?

CBD Hemp Oil is a natural substance derived from the earth.  It is only contaminated through the fertilizing and harvesting process.  Was the Hemp produced using Organic and Non-GMO methods and fertilization practices?

Third Party Lab Tested

To insure the Hemp oil is pure, reputable growers will have their product tested to insure it’s free of chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals and other impurities. Was the hemp oil tested for impurities and contaminants by a third party lab to insure the oil is clean and of high quality?
